QuickCast App Reviews
Easy, simple, well done, nice compression. I regret there is no way to delete an existing screencast. And sometimes 3 minutes is way not enough but it’s a good exercise. Plus you can merge various screencasts with another video tool if you need too.
Why?
Why only 3 minutes? This could be so useful if it was possible to create longer videos.
I doesnt save the movie in the selected directoy but only the default one. The default path can not be changed. The app failed to save and exit, and exited without saving few times which is a major bug. I had to do the screencast several times hoping that the screencast will be saved. There are some minor bugs but these few made me not use it anymore.
QuickCast is the best solution for me to record my screen and make short tutorials and so on. 5 Starts if Recordingtime could be more than 3 or 5 minutes.
Crashed
After first recording, the application crashed and logged me out.
Misleading
Why would you say unlimited video time if the limit is five minutes?
I have tried several Casts now , and each time the time runs out before I can finish the thought , I was trying to do Quick How to’s about a program , and 3 minutes just doesnt cut it . Make a Selection available for 5 , and it will be better . 3 minutes , 5 minutes , up to even 10 minutes , But 3 minutes Just simply isnt enough .
I have version 1.2.6 on Yosemite. Default shortcut to stop recording is Shift+Option+Command+Q. It’s default Mas Os Logout shortcut. So when i try to stop recording, i logout. I havent get any record yet. I’m sure it’s pretty when it’s working. ;)
no dark theme
Can’t see icon in Yosemite. Pls, add dark theme for icon.
I love it!
Is it possible to add a feature that let to edit the description below our videos?
Fantastic Support Tool
This is absoultely the best option for sharing quick tutorials or screencasts. It’s dead simple and works flawlessly.
Excellent
An excellent app for those who do a lot of screen recording. It is very easy to use and works wonderfully well.
does precisely what i needed it to do. simply. make a video of your screen, include a thumbnail video from a webcam, audio recording too. that’s all it does (as far as i can tell). and that’s all that i needed it to do.
Essential tool
I use this all the time for studying design patterns and providing quick, on-the-spot tech support. Simple, effective, and lightweight.
This seems like a really cool app, but either Im slow or its not very intuitive once the video is taken. Like jacob_18 mentioned, the quickcast folder is empty and Im unable to locate where its actually stored. Its still on my desktop but to no avail I cant figure out how to save it or locate where it currently "sits." HELP.
Super straight-forward and really clean. The only way this could be better is the ability to sync to dropbox and a way to add notation over recordings (but lacking these features, it totally still deserves five stars). I see myself using this a lot since I often find myself providing tech support, but I’d rather show someone than tell them how to do something.
I love QuickCast not just for the reallyl simple and beautiful UI, but for the fact that it forces me to keep my screencasts concise. It’s a designed constraint that really improves the end result.
Nicely Done
Really like this app. It’s easy to use and does exactly what’s it’s supposed to do. It’s a winner.
…and on top of that, it looks good. The best thing about it is how simple it is. The only feature I would request is some sort of graphic effect to show viewers when we click with the mouse.
can’t record system audio (((
This app looks good but it can’t record a system audio on my Mac mini…I’m disappointed….
