Very easy to use. Good feature set. Quickly renders the screencasts and easy to share. I love the easy to add title and ending cards. 3 minutes is limiting but probably a good thing. I did remake my first one because my microphone was too sensitive and had to go into my system’s settings to tone it down. Maybe future releases would allow you to turn down volume after reviewing a recording.

I had hoped that this would have given me a linked movie in a remote, browser-based, folder over which I could assign a little access privilege so as to provide security. Doesn’t do that. I routinely use at least two apps, and sometimes FCP X to put finishing touches, to my business tutorials and feature demos, and I thought this little program could provide a quick way to do the same while maintaining some security, so it doesn’t work well for me. I frankly can’t think of anything I’d use it for. So I’ve removed it from my machine.

Love the simplicity of the app. Easy to use, works great and looks great. The ONLY thing I would dock it for is the lack of upgradibility to longer recording times. I would easily pay $5/month to record longer videos. Maybe even a few extra features like highlighting the mouse cursor, etc. But otherwise, this is amazing.

I like the idea of the app.. but I noticed it leaves very large uncompressed files in the following folder… /Users/UserName/Library/Containers/io.quickcast.QuickCast/Data/Library/Application Support And it also seems pretty unstable. I’ve been trying to force-quit it for a while and I guess I’ll have to reboot. I tried to create a video and then went to click the Stop menu option and there was only a Record menu option… but it was already recording! Something got out of sync and now I have to reboot. Lovely.

This app saved me for sharing my screen casts. I recorded some teaching videos without any problems. Thank you so much!

Very useful app, but there are few features missing that would make this app even better: simple editing after recording, pausing during recording and stitching previously recorded videos together. Other than that, recording videos is definitely quick!

They included a count-down when you’re getting close to the 3 minute mark. Other than that, great app!

Thanks for adding the delete capability. this feature makes the app complete.

Easiest screen recording software for Mac, period. I randomly stumbled across this and have been searching for the perfect screen recording app for as long as i can remember.. This fits the bill. No fuss, does what it says, stays out of the way.. Perfect. Download it now if you have a Mac and need screen recording.

This app is well thought out and easy to use. I’d love to see the ability to annotate the video, maybe a good paid feature?

This is by far the best screen recording software… it is just so easy to use. Get it if you need quick screen recordings or even long ones. It does everything in such a simple package.

Works great. You can put yourself in a little webcam window and explain what youre doing.

Its my GoTo app for screen cast capturing… if they went down the path to handle screen grabs (photo), I could replace CloudApp and use QC to be my one stop place for all screen grabs (photo & video)

Not sure what happened. I had Quickcast some months ago, but didn’t use it often. I only used it for short tutorials for my elderly mother to help walk her through her computer. Had a major crash so I did a clean OS install. Mavericks both times, but this time all that Quickcast would do is display its icon in the menu bar. It would even highlight once clicked on, but nothing else. It wouldn’t even register in the ‘force quit applications’ window. When I tried moving the app into the trash I got a warning that the Application was OPEN!? Had to delete in using Terminal. Good thing I had some understanding of how to use Terminal. I tried reseting multiple times, but that didn’t work. So was forced to just delete it. Nice when it worked. Maybe the update was more of a down-date. Thanks anyway guys.

I’m a huge fan of this app; once I figured out it could record different monitors AND mouse clicks - this little lightweight app earned its five stars. It’s small, elegant and smooth. A very well-thought out, very Apple-app. Keep up the fine work; I would pay for additional premium features!

why is it sooo hard to end a recording session? it requires 4 keys, why just ESC??

My team is responsible for the training of over 1000 online teachers and I fully endorse this app in all of our training resources. The ability to record the screen and the webcam using picture in picture is priceless. Instructors can resize the webcam on the fly and change the focus of their lectures. It just works.

This app works very well! I love being able to teach my staff using my video screen-captures. It does what it says - when it decides to open. That’s my only concern. If only I could capture those moments the app wont open to better help you help me.

I needed to record something for a college so they could see what I was talking about. I was able to quickly record and send it off to them using this application, worked great.
